Sunspel launches second collaboration with Nigel Cabourn

Sunspel has teamed up with renowned British designer Nigel Cabourn for a second collaboration, following the success of their earlier partnership this year. The capsule collection celebrates British craftsmanship, blending Sunspel's heritage in fabric innovation with Cabourn's distinctive design style.

Drawing from the archives of both brands, the collection reinterprets classic designs in high-quality, heritage fabrics. One standout piece is a mesh-lined jacket made from Ventile, a waterproof fabric first developed in the 1930s. This design is a modern take on a 1981 army sports jacket from Cabourn's own archives. Another highlight is a Balmacaan coat, crafted from a luxurious wool-cashmere blend sourced from British mills, showcasing a nod to timeless tailoring.

The collection also includes a Wide Crew Neck jumper made in England from Merino wool, known for its softness and durability. Rounding out the capsule are a long-sleeve striped roll neck and a T-shirt, both made from Sunspel’s signature Supima cotton jersey at the brand's Long Eaton factory, known for its expertise in crafting premium fabrics.

Nigel Cabourn expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, noting the collaborative process with Sunspel’s jersey specialists at Long Eaton. "We’re using pieces from both archives as well as from my personal vintage collection, which has nearly 5,000 special items," said Cabourn.

Sunspel’s team echoed this sentiment, highlighting the fusion of their refined approach to fabric and manufacturing with Cabourn’s unique take on vintage designs. The collection reimagines archival pieces, bringing a contemporary feel to classic British garments.

The Sunspel x Nigel Cabourn collection is available online and in select stores from October 17th.
