On a rainy Friday morning during Men’s Paris Fashion Week, I stepped into Filippa K’s Autumn Winter 25 Pre-collection showroom, nestled in the charming Marais district. Anticipation had been building since I received the invitation (see below), a promise of a memorable experience. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by the showroom team. After a brief introduction, we were soon joined by the Creative Lead at Filippa K.
We quickly found common ground in our shared passion for bomber jackets, and the conversation naturally transitioned to the inspiration behind the Autumn Winter 25 Pre-collection. She noted that the team had focused on distilling the essence of the Filippa K brand. Asking themselves questions akin to “What is Filippa K?” “When do you wear it? “What sets the brand apart?” ”
The answer, as articulated by the Creative Lead , lies in the brand’s core principles: style, simplicity, and quality. “What else do you need?” I mused. Personal stories enriched our chat.
There is a distinct coming-of-age element to Filippa K; it is a brand that can accompany individuals as they grow and go through life. The collection embodies a sense of timelessness whilst maintaining a cool factor and a sense of relevancy all the while engaging in a dialogue with its heritage.
A prominent feature of the brand is the intentional curation of essential garments with a unique twist. Pieces that transition seamlessly from daywear to evening attire, with enough versatility to form a cohesive wardrobe solely from Filippa K’s range. I praised this chic, one-stop-shop approach to design.
I explored key pieces from the showcased collection. Highlights included the long, lean silhouettes inspired by the 70s and 90s, balancing heritage with modernity through earthy tones, knits, and stripes, all styled with a chic nod to British countryside influences and fishermen's aesthetics.
In the world of Filippa K, the devil truly is in the details. Each piece offers an unexpected twist—a pleated trouser, a reversible jacket, innovative fabric combinations, and fresh color palettes. The interplay of menswear elements within womenswear, alongside exciting denim and forthcoming accessory options, highlights the brand’s relentless creativity and commitment to innovate.
To further explore the collection, I invited my friend , Laurent Savaria, a French Canadian content creator, to join me in trying on some standout looks from the Pre-collection. Together, we embraced the spirit of Filippa K, celebrating a blend of sophistication and practicality that promises to resonate with the modern, discerning consumer.
