Every few minutes, several truckloads of disused plastics will have been dumped in the ocean. Averaging 8 million tons a year, plastics are now a continent in their own right and the fashion industry is the second largest polluter in the world, as every year, 30kg of clothing per household is sent to landfill. Vilebrequin has always stood for the opposite: style that lasts.

Designed for active lifestyles, the new shorter-fitting than normal MAN swim short is the perfect candidate for an eco-friendly swim line with all the performance you’d expect from Vilebrequin. Spun using fine 100% recycled yarn and made from 80% recycled textiles and 20% plastics caught by Mediterranean fishermen, this innovative fabric helps tackle the industry problem with each pair giving new life to 200g of plastic waste. In terms of design, the shorts come in a stretch fabric with a shorter inside leg, in vibrant solid hues offset by tone-on-tone waistband embroidery and drawstring tips.

From £120 and available at Vilebrequin.
