Vacheron Constantin Unveils Historiques 222 in Steel for 270th Anniversary

This year marks the start of a significant milestone for Vacheron Constantin as the Maison celebrates its 270th anniversary. To kick off a year of celebrations, the revered watchmaker has introduced a new iteration of the Historiques 222—this time in stainless steel.

Originally launched in 1977 for the Maison’s 222nd anniversary, the Historiques 222 set the tone for a new era in watch design. By blending formal elegance with sporty undertones, it became a symbol of effortless sophistication. The 2022 re-edition in yellow gold revived this classic, incorporating modern technical enhancements such as an improved bracelet, an open caseback showcasing the in-house calibre 2455/2, and a 40-hour power reserve for better precision and functionality.

The newly released steel version stays true to the timeless aesthetic of its predecessors while embracing a contemporary material choice. Part of the Maison’s Historiques collection, this timepiece not only pays homage to Vacheron Constantin’s storied past but also underscores its commitment to innovation within tradition.

The Historiques 222 Steel is priced at £30,800 and serves as a fitting tribute to 270 years of exceptional craftsmanship.
