Sunspel Collaborate with the WM Brown Project
Sunspel and the WM Brown Project, led by Matt Hranek, have unveiled their latest collaboration: a modern take on the classic Aran roll-neck sweater. Building on the success of their reimagined Riviera Polo Shirt, this new piece balances heritage with a fresh, luxurious feel, staying true to Sunspel’s tradition of combining elegance with comfort.
Crafted in Scotland from Geelong lambswool, the sweater is produced by a historic spinner near Loch Leven. Each piece is meticulously knitted in Dumfriesshire by artisans who use specialized knitting machines to achieve its intricate Aran pattern. A unique finishing process involves washing the sweater in soft, naturally alkaline Scottish water, creating a smooth, comfortable texture rarely found in traditional Aran knits.
Known for his affinity for classic menswear, Hranek noted that although he admired vintage Aran sweaters, they often felt too scratchy. This collaboration aims to solve that issue, delivering an Aran roll-neck that embodies timeless style while offering an exceptionally soft, wearable feel.
Creative Director David Telfer emphasizes that the sweater captures Sunspel’s dedication to British craftsmanship, comfort, and enduring design. This limited-edition piece launches on November 14th, bringing an iconic silhouette into the modern wardrobe with a refined, luxurious touch.
