Sunspel has a long association with Ian Fleming and his sensational literary creation James Bond, so the newest collection, The Sea Island Cotton collection celebrates both, with the creation of everyday wardrobe staples, elevated by the use of Sea Island cotton.

Pieces in the new collection, which are available from 2 September onwards include the Riviera Polo Shirt, Knitted Polo Shirt, Roll Neck Jumper and Pyjama Set. Sea Island cotton is one of the world’s most luxurious fabrics, making up only 0.0004% of the world’s cotton supplies. It has an incredibly soft, silk-like handle that feels unbelievably soft against the skin. In the novel, From Russia With Love (1957), Fleming writes ‘...At last, after shaving and putting on a dark blue Sea Island cotton shirt and navy blue tropical worsted trousers, Bond slipped his bare feet into black leather sandals and went through the bedroom…’ Both Fleming & Sunspel have a natural appreciation for the fabric, which was a preferred fabric for Fleming’s wardrobe.
