Each season, Fashion East showcases three emerging designers, providing an invaluable platform to the wider fashion community. Of the three brands that were presented for autumn 2018 (Art School, Rottingdean Bazaar and Stefan Cooke) it was Cooke whose clothes created the strongest lasting impression.

Stefan Cooke graduated from Central St Martins in 2017 and recently won the H&M young designer prize. His first full collection was simple but deceptively so, full of intelligent nuances. Denim, jackets & trench coats were purchased on eBay and then digitally printed on slim shapes created from elastic bandages.

The collection was a collaboration of a number of talented people - pattern cutter Jake Burt and Kate Britton who created the argyle knitwear. The execution and level of polish was exceptional. The coats were especially impressive, with patchwork and cut out details that elevated them into statement pieces. Cooke is one to watch.
