SHOPPING: Dress Codes for Men at Royal Ascot

There is no event in the social calendar quite as revered as Royal Ascot. After all, it’s reserved for the best; the best in racing, the best in hospitality – and, of course, the best in style. This is racing at its most exquisite. This year the event runs from 19-22 June 2024 and if you are going, doing find yourself caught short of the dress codes for each enclosure.

Royal Enclosure

For gentlemen attending the Royal Enclosure, the dress code is both traditional and formal. Morning dress is the standard, in black, grey, or navy material. The ensemble is completed with a black or grey top hat, which can be removed within restaurants, Private Boxes, enclosed external seating areas, terraces, balconies, or gardens. Footwear should be black dress shoes, worn with socks that cover the ankle.

Queen Anne Enclosure

As in other enclosures, socks must be worn and should cover the ankle.
