Poetic and elegant, the spring collection from Pronounce by Yushan Li and Jun Zhou presented the age old concept of spring florals in a whole new way.

Having benefited from the support of GQ China for two seasons, the collection was inspired by a trip to the Malik Ghat flower market in Kolkata, India. Spring florals have traditionally been on small prints on a tie or shirt, or on garish summer camp collar shirts on the high street but here the focus was on the way in which the scents inspire and evoke an emotion, with models seen carrying long and colourful garlands down the catwalk.

Tailoring throughout the collection was especially strong, displaying a chic, French sensibility with blazers cleverly transforming into capes and long, crushed velvet trousers. These were paired with laser cut printed shirts, washed denim and bags created in collaboration with MINI. Colours were trans-seasonal with earthy tones of clay and moss contrasting with light green and colourful, playful graphics.

The show was the first time that Nike’s Footscape Flyknit DM sneaker was unveiled, but it was the black calfskin slippers that really impressed.
