Margiela x Mackintosh

A new capsule collection of trench coats brings together fashion power houses Maison Margiela and Mackintosh. 

Taking inspiration from the archives of both archives for the collaboration. Margiela’s lab coats have long been the stuff of legends. The first design mimics the appearance of the blouse blanche, a little longer than a normal Mac, with white horn buttons, brushed steel eyelets and the achingly cool four stitches in the back. 

Design #2 harks back to the Mackintosh archive, using techniques first seen in the Margiela John Galliano designed spring 2017 artisanal collection. Layers are peeled back to reveal the frame inside and fabric and details are the same as the original design.
