Maison Mihara Yasuhiro AW18
Designs that are wearable, well made and that have an original viewpoint are ones that stand the test of time. It was the challenge to create these that faced Miharayasuhiro when producing the autumn/ winter 2018 collection.
For the new season, the designer looked over his archives and focused on former prototypes that have been born and edited from creating pieces for previous seasons. At that time, the pieces were dismissed and discarded, however they have now been reworked and considered to be suitable for rakish gents to don.
Many pieces feature an element of reconstruction, with the use of vintage clothes, twisting old details with new sneakers. Miharayasuhiro considers that the re-examination of what made a previous failure a now success, is a fascinating process that allows a stripping back of the design process. Whatever the reason, we think that the clothes are pretty damn great.
