After several seasons showcasing his own brand before decamping to Milan to work on Iceberg, this season James Long returned to London with one of ath-leisure’s strongest brands.

If you thought that logo mania was over, you were wrong. Long played homage to the 1974 heritage of the brand with a host of logos and graphics that embellished his signature knitwear, referencing footballer, the Pink Panther and that inseparable  duo of Charlie Brown and Snoopy. The football reference was a constant one - it’s an arena where we are used to seeing logos splashed all over, but here it was nicely combined with tailoring - tailored jackets with sporty sleeves and swag tracksuits styled with oversized bags were just an example.

What makes a sportswear collection really stand out? Apart from a superb logo that perfectly captures the zeitgeist, it’s the colours. Here, they were as bright as can be with neon pink and yellow standing out amongst the more wearable greens, blues and reds. Of course you’ll want a pair of sneakers with matching contrast laces to finish off the look.
