Gieves & Hawkes AW18 campaign
Gieves & Hawkes are reimagining the naval heritage that first brought the house to prominence, for the AW18 campaign. The first collection designed by new Creative Director John Harrison, is a highly sophisticated one, full of superb and elegant smart/ casual wear.
Featuring a strong and autumnal colour palette of grey and deep royal blue, with highlights of cream, brown and green the new campaign is shot against the rugged coastal landscape of Lyme Regis, and the striking design of The Crow’s Nest, a post-modern beachside villa created by architecture studio AR Design.
What about the clothes? They are pretty striking too. Highlights of the autumn collection include a windowpane navy check suit, rugby shirts and a modern raglan overcoat. Eveningwear, always a highlight is stronger than ever - cool and sharp with a timeless black dinner suit in ribbed wool with elegant shawl lapels cut to a new pattern, dressed correctly with a satin bow tie and fur-collared evening coat. The more directional man might opt for the midnight blue silk jacquard evening jacket with a distinctive octopus tentacle design, that’s dressed down with a merino crewneck for something more relaxed – but no less chic.
