Fiorucci AW20
Emboldened by new Creative Director Daniel Fletcher, Fiorucci’s collection for autumn 2020 began with a visit to the brands archives.
What he found were pieces that spoke of the brand’s history from the nightlife of the Seventies - original sketches, denim handprinted by Keith Haring and artefacts that belonged to Elio Fiorucci. Combine these influences with the London club scene and you begin to get a sense of where the brand is today; a hedonistic melting pot of sex, music and Italian flare.
Those Seventies influences are worked over core cotton and denim pieces, with racing overalls reworked into a modern silhouette. Satin is a core component, appearing on bomber jackets and appliquéd shirts. Tailoring is introduced for the first time via flared wool trousers, a mustard tuxedo jacket and checked overalls. Fletcher also introduces his own expertise with knitwear with the range of zebra print tanks and lambswool crew necks.
