Cerruti AW19
There are few tailoring brands that fuse together sportswear elements and fine tailoring as seamlessly as Cerruti. Under the creative direction of Mr. Jason Basmajian, the brand has gone from strength to strength and the new collection appealed to a customer younger than we would expect from the heritage label.
Showcased in Paris, impeccable craftsmanship and a relaxed approach to tailored pieces are at the heart of the brand. For autumn, the sportswear elements were more pronounced than before are also more sophisticated. Inspired by the recent Oceania exhibition at London’s Royal Academy, Basmajian took motifs of modern and urban travel into protection, luxury and modern elegance, all of which we need as part of a complete winter wardrobe.
As with last season, silhouettes were loose and comfortable without being oversized. New styles included refined belted suits, with cropped blouson style jackets and textured fabric combinations. Matte was sided with shiny, embroidery features on knitwear and the tailored pieces were crafted from leather, twill and wool. Accessories were clean and simple - relaxed boots, camera bags and sporty duffle bags in earthy tones of olive, tobacco and khaki.
