Barbour and Baracuta Reunite for Autumn/Winter 2024 Collaboration
Two iconic British outerwear brands, Barbour and Baracuta, have teamed up once again for an Autumn/Winter 2024 collection, following the success of their first collaboration. Both brands, rooted in northern England, bring together over 200 years of combined craftsmanship, paying homage to their shared heritage.
Barbour, founded in 1894, and Baracuta, established in 1937, are both known for creating durable and practical outerwear designed to withstand the British weather. This collection draws inspiration from their rich archives and celebrates the individuality of British subcultures from the 1950s to the 1970s, which embraced these iconic jackets.
The campaign, featuring model and podcaster Danny Lomas, was shot in Manchester, underscoring the northern origins of both brands. The collaboration includes a variety of outerwear, sweaters, shirts, T-shirts, and accessories, blending signature elements from both labels. Tartan patterns, a hallmark of each brand, feature prominently throughout the collection, offering a fresh take on classic designs.
Some standout pieces include:
Barbour Baracuta Oversized Casual Bedale: A hybrid of Barbour’s Bedale jacket and Baracuta’s G9 Harrington, with the silhouette of the former and the distinct dog-ear collar of the latter.
Barbour Baracuta Wax Gilet: A modern reissue of Barbour’s Westmoreland Waistcoat, available in black and olive, incorporating Baracuta’s signature G9 umbrella yoke.
Barbour Baracuta Mods Casual Parka: A nod to the 1960s Mod subculture, this parka retains a traditional shape and is available in stone and sage.
Barbour Baracuta Patchwork Shirt: A bold shirt featuring Baracuta’s Fraser tartan and Barbour’s House tartan, accented with three contrasting chest pockets.
Barbour Baracuta Tartan Bag: A crossbody satchel blending both brands’ tartans, perfect for everyday use.
