Alexander McQueen pre AW23
Creative director at Alexander McQueen, Sarah Burton delivers another precise and considered collection.
Drawing on influences from nature and the cosmos, the prevailing sense of the range is subversive and fragile, with tailoring at the forefront. Classic, Savile Row style suits have been sliced to reveal bare sections of skin, lapels are exaggerated to be wider than ever before and details involving fabrics like soft leather add a sensual and rebellious touch.
Embroidery has always been a strong theme at McQueen and this is still the case this season, as clusters of dazzling and red carpet worthy appear across black tie looks. A regular message of florals that has appeared across the brand’s designs over the last few years continues, as well as the night sky.
